Dear Brethren,
Thus far into 2007 we haven't seen any "global warning" here
in Hiawassee! Our temperatures have struggled to get above freezing for
several days! However, we have been busy making preparation for a busy
schedule that awaits us.
We conducted a funeral recently for a dear friend in Valdosta. We anticipate
another here in Hiwassee within the next few weeks. We look forward to
being with the good church in Hillsboro, Tennessee, on the 18th. We have
been associated with the congregation for over fifty years. Hiawassee
and Hayesville will be on the agenda during the next few weeks also. In
mid-March I will participate in a series of meetings in Lakeland, Georgia.
We helped establish this congregation when we first began our mission
work in Georgia.
The congregation in Gray, Georgia, has invited me to assist them in a
campaign the first week in May. We also will participate in a seminar
at the McDonough Bible College the first week in May. A campaign in Wider
will take place later on in the Spring or early Summer.
Thanks for your continued support and encouragement.
In Him,
Forrest
History of how we became involved:
Forrest Chapman has been a friend to the Hillsboro church since a student at David Lipscomb College in the early 1950's. As a student, he came to Hillsboro to preach, developing a relationship that continues strong to this day. This was before the church had any man working on a regular basis and student preachers often gained experience speaking to the Hillsboro congregation.
Forrest has spent most of his life preaching for congregations in his home state of Georgia. For many years he has been a highly-respected and sought-after preacher, holding meetings throughout the southeast and beyond. He continues this valuable work today, as well as preaching for various congregations throughout Georgia and northern Florida in places still considered the mission field.
He and his wife, Burma, now make their home in Hiawassee, Georgia, near the northeast corner of the state.
